Tuesday Jan. 26 students of TASC held a hat day as part of the Haiti week to help all those affected by the earthquake in Haiti. Students were able to wear hats for $1 or donate how every much they would like."It turned out great for the short notice we had," Kim Rastberger said. "There was a lot of hard work done. I'm very proud." Students went around to all the first hours to collect the money. Between all the money collected and donated the price came to $324.32. The money went to Doctors without Borders, Oxfam America, and Convey of Hope. "The kids wanted it to go to doctors and food," Rastberger said. "So that's why we picked different ones that were more specific like the Doctors without Borders, Oxfam America, and Convoy of Hope." Throughout the rest of the week, there will be other days students can participate in to help Haiti. "Hopefully the rest of the week will be just as successful as hat day," TASC president Justine Raguini said. Students wore many different types and styles of hats. The hats we able to wore all day and they got a red ticket once they paid a dollar. "It was a good cause and a good outcome," senior Jo Heupel said. "It was fun to see all the different hats." |
